osx - Single user mode in mac -

I want to use Mac in a single user mode. I want to use ctags and cscope in that mode Can anyone help me with the necessary setup for this? Thank you. I just know how to go into a single user mode, so please tell me in a simple and easy-to-understand way. My Mac version is 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

Actually you can use a full-screen mode ( As others have said, you really want to not run in single user mode).

Reboot on your Mac and Lobby Screen instead of your username Type & gt; Leave the console and empty password it will take you to a full screen text mode.

[Note that for this to work, you need to be able to type in the username - to get it from the list - this system preferences => Account => Login Options and select Name and password .]
